Volkspark Wuhlheide, Berlin/Oberschöneweide

On Monday, April 2, a group of voluntaries will plant 50 birches at Volkspark Wuhlheide. For his project Berlin-Birkenau artist Łukasz Surowiec brought the birches from the area around the former Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp to Berlin. Every helping hand is welcome to plant a birch tree as a symbolic gesture of commemoration.

The public planting takes place in cooperation with the volunteer’s initiative WikiWoods. Since 2007 WikiWoods combines the act of planting trees with climate protection and education programs in schools.

Directions

Meeting point is at Volkspark Wuhlheide.

Diagonally opposite the tram station “Treskowallee/Hegemeisterweg” there is an entrance to Volkspark Wuhlheide. The meeting point is after about 500 meters on the right-hand side.
