Counter-relief

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 / 9 pm

Terrace, Neue Nationalgalerie, Potsdamer Strasse 50, 10785 Berlin-Tiergarten, U2, S1/S2/S25 Potsdamer Platz

A film projection and live performance involving movement and text that investigates the discrepancies between materiality and representation through a grid of fragmented actions and a dissection of narrative structure. A live experimental film, a work in progress, a bodily reflection on the intersection of choreography, architecture, and film: Counter-relief extends Jimmy Robert’s practice at the limits of dance and visual art and interacts with its iconic stage, the terrace of the Neue Nationalgalerie. With an intervention by Emma Hedditch. Jimmy Robert was born in 1975 in Guadeloupe (FR), he lives and works in Amsterdam (NL) and Brussels (BE).
