Dinner-Lecture Synesthetic Banquet: Vesuvian Horizon

For this installment of Beltrán’s series Synesthetic Banquet the artist will prepare a variety of dishes along with a lecture on the volcano Vesuvius. The Vesuvius, somewhat a crossroad, is the departure point of the lecture, which will take the guests to the summit of the volcano as well as descending to the center of the earth. The especially designed dishes for this occasion are resorting to the guests’ senses in order to extend the reach of the stimulated discourse. The cook acts as an alchemist transforming matter into concepts through the experience of eating.
