A curated selection of rarely screened short films by women sets the stage for Lizzie Borden’s masterpiece feature length, Born in Flames, a film made over several years and combining footage from the lives of actors and scripted scenes with a cast that includes Civil Rights activist Flo Kennedy, film director Kathryn Bigelow, and Adele Bertei from the band, The Contortions. Emma Hedditch, born 1972, is a visual artist and writer and has been a co-organizer of London’s Cinenova Women’s Film and Video Distribution since 2000. She lives and works in London (GB).
