Artists can, of course, participate in socio-political debates; but they cannot be required to do so, just as it is not possible to require those who govern to take critical voices seriously. It is only possible to make it relentlessly and unmistakably burdensome for them through constructive criticism that appears in all the media, including proposals for change—and then finally vote them out of office.

At the same time, your desire for »an agreement« between artists, institutions, and politicians seems too naïve for me to want to contribute a »statement« on the subject.
